La Junta, Cochamó
In summer 2018 I decided travel with my couple, Ignacio, to the Carretera Austral in Chile.
First we went to Cochamó, we didn't like too much the place because when we got there seams there's not places to swim. You can see the lake when you arrive but was in a place full of rocks, also fisher mans and boats.
But we actually didn't go to Cochamó to stay in the town, Ignacio meet tree years ago ''La Junta''. A place 40 minutes away of town, more 5 hours of hiking. Personally I never made a hiking or a trekking so large.
We start to up the mountain, was full of native trees, it had a river and is a short posibility of get lost beacuse is really big. You mind plays a game of resistence, your body after 2 hours start to complain.
But these is a nice experiencie, you never know how much you can give for see what is upside, what you will see.
Being upside we saw big big monutains enclosing us. You can feel how little is the human in the word, you can imagine a place where dinosauries lives. La Junta is a place human didn't destroy yet.
In this place, you can make around 5 trekkings and hikings. They last 2-5 hours to complete, in the upside of these you can see idylic rivers, lakes, mountains, etc. La Junta also is a place wich is not discovered for complete yet, muntaineering open new roads and find unimaginable places of the nature.
In la Junta you sleep in tents, you shower in a open place, you don't have signal phone. You are alone in the middle of the nature, 5 hours away of a town and you don't see too many pleople.
The most closer atraction upside are the Toboganes. Cascades down of a big mountain rocks, smooth rocks where the of water run make a place to slide over the rocks and fall into the little lake.
I love see the stars, feels real air, feels the water, the sun, be alone an quiet. I enjoy La Junta and I want to come back to make more trekkings, to see more wonderfull hidding nature.
